IJNet seeks Russian translator [Worldwide]

Journalists with three to five years’ experience conducting English to Russian translations can apply for this position.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., is seeking a Russian translator for its IJNet Russian site. The site provides the latest in tips, trends and training opportunities for a global, Russian-speaking audience. 

The Russian translator will work closely with the IJNet Russian editor to populate the Russian site with practical articles and resources for journalists, and with IJNet home office staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Russian site. 

Other responsibilities include researching, writing and publishing training opportunities in Russian for IJNet. The translator will also translate opportunities from English to Russian and from Russian to English.

Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and fluency in Russian and English. A background in journalism is preferred.

This is a part-time contract position.
