International Women’s Film Festival

Deadline: July 1

Women filmmakers who have produced films related to women’s rights and gender problems can submit their work to the International Women’s Film Festival "KIN" ("woman" in Armenian), organized by the Legal Gender Cultural Foundation LIZA, which will take place in November. Learn more here.

Contest recognizing COVID-19 reporting

Deadline: July 3

The American Society of Journalists and Authors has launched the COVID-19 Writing Awards, which will award works in nine categories: business and economy, education, health care, mental health, personal essays, politics and government, science, social adaptation, and technology. Photojournalism contest for young photographers

Deadline: July 5

Photographers under 24 can apply for the Ian Parry Scholarship for a chance to win US$3,500 and Canon photo equipment. One winner will also be automatically nominated for the Joop Swart Masterclass from World Press Photo. Learn more here

Business journalism fellowship at CUNY

Deadline: July 17

The McGraw Center for Business Journalism at the City University of New York's Craig Newmark School of Journalism offers a remote fellowship program to support in-depth coverage of business and the global economy. Fellows receive US$5,000 a month for one to three months. More information here

Scholarship to study at Oxford University

Deadline: July 31

Students around the world are invited to apply to Rhodes Trust’s global scholarships, which are intended for outstanding students motivated to engage in global challenges. Selected candidates will study at Oxford University in the U.K. Click here for more information. 

Photo contest for photographers of all levels

Deadline: July 31

The 2020 International Photography Awards (IPA) are accepting entries from professional, amateur and student photographers around the world. The contest will award prizes in 13 professional and 13 nonprofessional categories. The grand prize winner will receive US$10,000. Learn more here
