AI accountability fellowships
Deadline: July 1, 2023
The Pulitzer Center is seeking staff and freelance journalists for its AI Accountability Fellowships. Fellows will receive funding to pursue a reporting project that examines governments and corporations’ uses of predictive and surveillance technologies to guide decisions in policing, medicine and more.
Communications fellowship
Deadline: July 3, 2023
Journalists who are interested in sustainability issues can apply for the Club of Rome’s 2023 Communications Fellowship. This program is aimed at increasing the diversity of voices covering sustainability issues and supporting early-career communications professionals from underrepresented communities and regions.
Investigative journalism fellowship
Deadline: July 10, 2023
Reuters and Durham University are accepting applications for the Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship in Investigative Journalism. Participants will be mentored by top Reuters editors in the field, have access to university academics and more. Early-career journalists are eligible to apply.
Women’s film festival
Deadline: July 10, 2023
Women filmmakers can submit short documentary, fiction and animated films that address issues related to women’s rights, gender inequality, discrimination and more to the Legal Gender Cultural Foundation LIZA’s International Women’s Film Festival “KIN.” Entries must have been produced in the last three years and include English subtitles.
Rising news media stars award
Deadline: July 15, 2023
The International News Media Association is accepting applications and nominations for the 30 Under 30 Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement and career potential among news professionals who are younger than 30. Winners will receive global recognition, a social media badge and more.
Film festival
Deadline: July 15, 2023
Young filmmakers can submit their work to the Kyiv International Film Festival “Molodist,” which will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine from Oct. 21 to 29. The competition will include an international program, an LGBTQ+ competition program and more. Winners will receive cash prizes.

The Rory Peck Trust is accepting applications for the Rory Peck Awards, which honor freelance journalists and filmmakers. Entries must have been aired between July 30, 2022 and July 17, 2023.
Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize
Deadline July 31, 2023
Professional journalists and teams of professional journalists can compete for the European Parliament’s Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism. Entries must have been published between Sept. 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023. The winner will receive a cash prize.
