Award for young journalists in developing countries
Deadline: August 14, 2020
Journalists 30 and under in developing countries can compete for the 2020 Young Journalist Award from the Thomson Foundation, in partnership with the Foreign Press Association. Entrants must submit three published pieces of work, which can be print, audio, video, multimedia or a combination. Click here for more information.
TED2020 fellowships
Deadline: August 24, 2020
Media entrepreneurs, human rights activists and photographers can apply for a 2020 TED fellowship. Fellows will participate in virtual workshops and webinars, and attend the TED2021 conference scheduled for June 2021 in Monterrey, California. Fellowship to work in U.S. newsrooms
Deadline: August 31, 2020
Print, broadcast and online journalists from developing countries can apply for the Alfred Friendly Press fellowships, which bring journalists to U.S. newsrooms. Applicants must have three years of experience, current full-time employment as a journalist, be between 25 and 35 years old and have strong English language skills. Learn more here.
