Journalists ages 30 and younger working in developing countries can compete for this award.
Three finalists will be flown to London for the gala award night. The three finalists and the next three highest who are shortlisted will be mentored for six months by six established journalists from the foundation's alumni.
Journalists working in countries with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of less than US$20,000 are eligible.
Entrants should submit a portfolio of three published pieces of work (print, audio, video, multimedia or a combination of all four) produced in the 12 months preceding Aug. 12. Entries can be in any language but should be accompanied by a verbatim English-language translation.
The deadline is Aug. 12.
