Business professor job opening

Deadline: May 1, 2025

The International Center for Journalists is seeking a journalism professor to teach courses on general and business reporting to graduate students at Beijing's Tsinghua University. Applicants must have at least five years of experience covering business or economics for a globally recognized media outlet, fluency in English and more. 

Residency mission

Deadline: May 5, 2025 

Journalists holding recognized professional status and capable of engaging a broad school or cultural community can apply now for communauté urbaine de Dunkerque’s residency mission, which aims to raise awareness about media, information and freedom of expression.

Photo essay competition

Deadline: May 5, 2025 

The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is seeking entries for its photo essay competition, which is designed to showcase the best in mountain-themed photo essays. Entries must include three to five images and a short description. The Grand Prize winner will receive CAD3,000. 

Investigative editing scholarships 

Deadline: May 6, 2025 

Mid-career journalists with at least five years of investigative journalism experience can apply now for the International Center for Journalists’ full scholarships to participate in Arizona State University’s Howard Center for Investigative Editing Program. This course will equip participants with the skills to develop and guide impactful investigative project ideas. Proficiency in English is required.  

Digital journalism contest

Deadline: May 15, 2025 

Online journalists, digital news organizations and students can apply for the Online News Association’s journalism awards, which recognize excellence in digital reporting. Entries must have been published between April 15, 2024 and April 2, 2025. The contest offers four awards with a total of US $45,000 in prize money.  

Investigative reporting scholarships

Deadline May 15, 2025

The Columbia Journalism School is offering scholarships for its Summer Investigative Reporting Course, which includes workshops that focus on developing a major project. All scholarships include tuition and course fees, economy airfare to New York City, and more. Journalists, editors and journalism educators are eligible to apply. 

Summer school scholarships

Deadline: May 18, 2025  

Senior students, graduates and professionals can apply for the Transparency International School on Integrity’s transparency training, which will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from June 30 to July 4. Participants will learn the latest developments in anti-corruption and accountability and have opportunities to implement their ideas.  

AI infrastructures program 

Deadline: May 26, 2025  

Cambridge Digital Humanities at the University of Cambridge is seeking journalists for its Social Data School, which will focus on AI infrastructures and is structured around the life-cycle of a digital research project. Applicants may propose a project to work on during the five-day program. Bursaries will be available for those who demonstrate financial need.
