Videographers, photographers, writers, audio reporters and data journalists can apply for a fellowship to report on the voting rights.
The GroundTruth Project, with support from the Jesse and Betsy Fink Charitable Fund, Solutions Journalism Network, MacArthur Foundation and Henry Luce Foundation, has launched the Preserving Democracy and Voting Rights Fellowship.
Story proposals must examine threats to democracy and voting that are unfolding at the local level and how individuals, organizations and communities are responding.
Key themes include the role of technology in the electoral process, or more broadly in the functioning of democratic society; the role of women in shaping electoral policy, shaping institutions and/or civil society; and the intersection of religion and democracy
Fellows will receive US$5,000. Candidates may apply with a partner or partners.
The deadline is June 22.
