ICFJ, Connectas launch journalism fellowship, grant [Latin America]

Journalists residing in Latin America can apply to these programs

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and Connectas are organizing two programs to strengthen independent and quality journalism in the region: the Journalistic Production Grant and the ICFJ/Connectas Fellowship 2019.

To apply for the Journalistic Production Grant, candidates must have at least three years of professional experience. Selected applicants will receive editorial support and a stipend of US$200 to US$2,000, which must be used exclusively for investigation expenses.

Candidates applying for the ICFJ/Connectas Fellowship 2019 must have at least five years of professional experience and reside in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Santa Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago or Venezuela.

Selected journalists will receive a US$3,000 reporting grant to complete the investigation in five months, as well as mentoring and advice.

The deadline is March 3.
