Travel grants for science journalism workshops available [Europe]

Science journalists can apply for this program.

The 2019-2020 Balkan Science Journalism workshops are organized by the Center for Ethics in Science and Journalism (CESJ), the Balkan Network of Science JournalistsSissa/Isas and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) as a part of the proESOF program, in preparation for the ESOF2020 (Euro Science Open Forum).

The next course will be held in English on April 5, 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Participants will discuss scientific topics as well as data and investigative journalism and reporting on corruption with researchers, science reporters and editors. They will also learn about real-life examples of good practices from the region.

Journalists from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine can apply for grants that cover travel and accommodation.

The deadline is Jan. 15, 2019.
