Journalist Nicholas Holmes has expanded his free online portfolio startup, cuttings.me, offering video and audio embeds as well as social media feeds.

As part of the expansion of the portfolio site, Holmes is launching, clippings.me, targeted to North American journalists. (The reason? The original name sounds dangerously like a mental disorder to journalists there.)

Other features available on both sites will be helpful to freelance journalists anywhere who need to create a portfolio quickly. Journalists can now embed their video portfolios from YouTube and Vimeo, audio excerpts from AudioBoo and Sound Cloud plus add RSS feeds with their latest updates from Facebook and LinkedIn. Holmes says a customized site can be live in just a few minutes and the profiles are backed up with Amazon web services to ensure they won't go dark.

The main site features some 10,000 journalist profiles.
