Photographers around the world can compete for a US$5,000 grand prize.
The California Academy of Sciences is accepting entries for its BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition. BigPicture encourages photographers to contribute their work to this competition that both celebrates and illustrates the rich diversity of life on Earth and inspires action to protect and conserve it through the power of imagery.
Photos can be submitted in seven categories: Art of Nature; Aquatic Life; Winged Life, Landscapes, Waterscapes, and Flora; Terrestrial Wildlife; Human/Nature; and Photo Story 2024: Unusual Perspectives.
The entry fee is US$25 for up to 10 single image submissions in any category and US$15 for each six to eight image Photo Story submission.
A total of US$12,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. The first-place winners in each category will each receive US$1,000 and have their winning images featured in an exhibit.
The deadline is March 1.
