The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas and the UNDP Infosegura Regional Project, in partnership with USAID, launch the course "Data Journalism for Citizen Security," Jan. 15 to Feb. 11, 2024.
During the training, led by Sandra Crucianelli and Alejandra Monteoliva, participants will learn to develop and strengthen capacities to practice data journalism on issues related to citizen security in the region, with emphasis on generating evidence for citizen security policies. To achieve this, they will learn to search for data on the web and manage databases, extract data from closed and open formats, and perform basic mathematical operations in spreadsheets, among other skills.
