Media outlets, journalists, community and issue advocacy groups, individuals and others concerned with ethnic issues can enter a competition.

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is accepting entries for its New America Award. The competition honors public service journalism that explores and exposes issues of importance to immigrant or ethnic communities in the United States.

Applicants can submit works in three categories: print/online, audio (includes radio and podcasts), and television. The winners of each category will be placed in a final competition for a New America Overall Excellence Award.

Works must have been published or broadcast in 2023.

The extended deadline is March 11.
