Educational, non-governmental and non-profit organizations from Moldova and the United States can apply for grants.
The US Embassy in Chișinău, Moldova announces a grant competition for Journalism and Media Training in Moldova.
Competitive proposals should include the programs that involve travel by Moldovan journalists — both regionally and to the U.S. — to gain first-hand experience in news organizations. Another component of each proposal should be to bring U.S. speakers to Moldova to provide expertise to university programs for journalism students, as well as journalism and media professionals.
The purpose of the training programs is to improve the knowledge and professional skills of journalists and media workers in financial and banking reporting; legal, constitutional, legislative and judicial coverage; corruption investigations; development of a culture of ethical reporting, and more.
The total amount for this grant program is US$500,000.
The application deadline is March 2.
