The Global Investigative Journalism Network is hosting the webinar "How to Investigate Illegal Mining in Latin America."
Experienced journalists from Brazil, Peru and Venezuela will share tips on how to collect and analyze data to investigate illegal mining, and how to combine these methods with traditional reporting techniques.
The guests will also present successful cases of using satellite images and multimedia tools to expose corruption, deforestation and risks to the health of communities living nearby mining regions in Brazil, Peru and Venezuela.
The webinar will be livestreamed via Zoom on Nov. 17. The session will be translated to both Portuguese and Spanish.
