Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize Deadline July 6, 2015
Photographers ages 18 and older can compete in a contemporary portrait contest. The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2015, organized by the National Portrait Gallery in London, is accepting entries. Applicants are encouraged to portray people with an emphasis on their identity as individuals. The first place winner will receive GBP12,000 (US$18,729). Click here for more information.
MJ Bear Fellowship, Online News Association Deadline July 10, 2015
Journalists ages 23 to 30 who have been involved in digital journalism projects can apply for a fellowship. The Online News Association is accepting applications for its MJ Bear Fellowship, which identifies and supports early-career digital journalists. Fellows must be fluent in English. Candidates must have demonstrated — through professional experimentation, research or other projects — that they deserve support for their efforts and/or vision. Click here for more information.
Third Coast / Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition Deadline July 14, 2015
The Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition will honor the best audio work produced worldwide in English. The categories are best documentary, directors' choice, best new artist, radio impact, best news feature and the Skylarking Award. Winners will receive U$1,000 to US$4,000 prizes, a license for Hindenburg Journalist Pro editing software and a free pass to the Third Coast Filmless Festival Oct. 23 to 25 in Chicago. Full scholarships to Radio Nederland Training Centre Deadline July 24, 2015
Midcareer journalists from several developing countries can apply for a scholarship to attend an RNTC course in the Netherlands. The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are accepting applications for journalism courses at the Radio Nederland Training Centre (RNTC). 2015 Web Documentary Visa d'Or Award Deadline July 27, 2015
As part of the Visa pour l’Image - Perpignan international photojournalism festival, FRANCE 24 and RFI are sponsoring the 2015 web documentary competition. The web documentary must be in either French or English and must have been published online between July 27, 2014 and July 27, 2015. The winner will receive EUR8,000 (US$8,919). Falling Walls Foundation fellowship Deadline July 31, 2015
The Falling Walls Foundation seeks candidates with at least three years of professional journalism or blogging experience in which they have written about science.
