Journalists from Indonesia can apply for story grants to report on air pollution in the city.

Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is inviting journalists from Jakarta to apply for story grants and mentorship to cover the issue of air pollution, especially in Jakarta and surrounding areas, and the multifaceted impacts it poses to local populations.

Solutions-driven story pitches that focus on actions to improve the quality of air in the state and ideas that aim to report on air pollution in a gender-sensitive manner are encouraged. Up to 14 grants with an average budget of US$1,000 each will be provided to selected journalists.

Early-career and experienced journalists working in any medium are encouraged to apply. Journalists who participated in the Clean Air Catalyst media training workshop held in Jakarta in August 2022 will be given preference.

Apply by Sept. 14.
