Journalists in Nigeria who tell migration stories can enter a contest and compete for cash prizes.
The European Union-International Organization for Migration (EU-IOM) Joint Initiative for Migrant Protection and Reintegration is organizing a Reporting Migration Competition in West and Central African countries to foster quality reporting on reintegration and protection of migrants.
To participate, journalists are invited to submit their published print, online or broadcast stories on the thematic areas: irregular migration, return and reintegration, migrant protection, and migrants with vulnerabilities.
Stories published or aired between July 2021 and February 2022 are eligible for submission.
The first-place winner in the print, radio, television and online categories will receive US$800 each. The second and third place winners in each category will receive US$500 and US$300, respectively.
The deadline is May 6.
