Journalists from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda can apply for this five-day workshop.

Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is accepting applications for its 2022 Media Workshop on Wildlife and Conservation Reporting in East Africa. The workshop will introduce journalists to the various threats confronting wildlife and biodiversity across the region, and ongoing efforts to combat these threats.

Journalists will engage in a combination of classroom-style study and field visits to select national parks, forest reserves and other areas to learn more about habitat restoration efforts and conservation solutions.

Participating journalists will also receive hands-on capacity-building sessions to develop their skills in mobile journalism, multimedia journalism, solutions journalism and data journalism, and learn how to improve their story pitches.

The workshop will be held March 28 to April 4 in Fort Portal, Uganda.

EJN will cover the travel, accommodation and meal costs of selected participants.

The application deadline is Feb. 21.
