Journalists worldwide can apply for an online course on violence prevention reporting.
The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), is offering the Violence Prevention Reporting Program. The program will implement a two-week online course designed to enable journalists around the world to strengthen their reporting on issues related to violence against children and effective interventions.
Beginning in December, the online course covers critical issues on violence prevention and successful initiatives. Some of the topics include child violence in the news, why the voice of the child is newsworthy and experiences of journalists reporting on child violence.
Journalists who produce stories on the issues will be given preference for participation in the subsequent phase of the program and will also be eligible for reporting grants and dedicated virtual mentorship.
The application deadline is Nov. 19.
