Journalists and students can apply for grants to attend a conference for science writers.
The National Association of Science Writers (NASW) is offering grants to assist colleagues in need who are interested in attending the ScienceWriters2025 (SciWri25) conference.
These grants will reimburse up to US$1,200 in expenses for in-person attendees and up to US$200 in other expenses for virtual attendees.
NASW is also offering three travel fellowship grants to support the attendance of Indigenous journalists and communicators at ScienceWriters2025.
Indigenous journalists will receive grants of up to US$2,000 to help cover travel costs, accommodations, caregiving expenses, and more.
All grants cover conference registration and other costs associated with conference attendance.
The conference will be held virtually and in-person.
Virtual events begin on Oct. 22 and the in-person conference will be held Nov. 7 to 9 in Chicago, Illinois.
The deadline for the SciWri25 grants is Aug. 28. The deadline for travel grants for Indigenous journalists is Sept. 3.
