The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas hosts the online course "How to report safely: Strategies for women journalists and their allies" May 3 to 30.
The free course is organized in partnership with the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) and UNESCO, with financial support from the Swedish Postcode Foundation.
The training is divided into four modules: an introduction to safety planning; situational awareness and personal safety; harassment and gender-based violence; and self-care and mental wellbeing.
The instructor is Alison Baskerville, lead inclusive safety trainer for IWMF.
The course is accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
