Public interest journalism funding
Deadline: July 1, 2024
Media organizations with a strong record of public interest journalism can submit proposals now to the International Fund for Public Interest Media to receive grants of up to US$250,000, intended to support independent media organizations investing in audience strategies that better serve the public.
Book competition
Deadline: July 2, 2024
The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is organizing the Banff Centre Mountain Book Competition. Writers, editors and publishers must submit first editions published in 2023 or 2024. A total of US$29,000 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Broadcasting contest
Deadline: July 5, 2024
Journalists, filmmakers and content creators can apply now for the Association for International Broadcasting’s annual competition, which recognizes TV, video, digital, radio, audio and social media work. Entries can be in any language and must have been made available between July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
Narrative journalism grants
Deadline: July 14, 2024
Women and nonbinary journalists with at least three years’ experience can apply now for the International Women’s Media Foundation’s Kari Howard Fund for Narrative Journalism. Applicants may be freelance or print reporters and may apply individually or as part of a team. Grants up to US$5,000 will be awarded.
Short film festival
Deadline: July 14, 2024
The Vilnius Short Film Festival is accepting fiction, documentary, animation, experimental or hybrid films that are up to 30 minutes long and completed after Jan. 1, 2023. English subtitles are required for non-English language films.
Investigative journalism fellowship
Deadline: July 15, 2024
Reuters and Durham University are seeking early-career journalists for the Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship in Investigative Journalism. Fellows will be mentored by top Reuters journalists in the field, receive access to university academics and more.
Social media manager job opening
Deadline: July 21, 2024
Graduates in journalism, communication or a related field, with one to three years of proven experience in audiovisual production, graphic design, journalism or community management, are invited to apply for Reporters Without Borders' social media manager position.
Wildlife photography awards
Deadline: July 31, 2024
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards is seeking entries for its free competition, which celebrates the hilarity of the natural world and highlights what needs to be done to protect it. The overall winner will receive a one-week safari in Kenya and other prizes.
