Early-career journalists looking to develop advanced journalism skills can apply for an apprenticeship.

The BBC is accepting applications for its Journalist Apprenticeship Scheme. The 18-month to two-year apprenticeship begins September 2024, with locations in London, Salford, Orkney, Leeds, Hull, Brighton and Cardiff.

Successful apprentices will gain hands-on experience, creating quality content for BBC TV, radio, online and digital platforms.

Apprentices will study and learn on the job while working towards a Level 7 Apprenticeship and the industry recognized NCTJ National Qualification in Journalism (NQJ). Upon completion of the program, apprentices will be hired as journalists at the BBC.

The salary is GBP25,000 and apprentices based in London will also receive a GBP5,164 living allowance.

The deadline is Nov. 20.
