Early-career journalists looking to develop advanced journalism skills can apply for an apprenticeship.

The BBC is accepting applications for its Journalist Apprenticeship Scheme. The 18-month to two-year apprenticeship begins September 2025, with locations in London, Salford, Glasgow, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Reading and Cardiff.

Successful apprentices will gain hands-on experience, creating quality content for BBC TV, radio, online and digital platforms.

Apprentices will study and learn on the job while working towards an apprenticeship level and the industry recognized NCTJ National Qualification in Journalism (NQJ). Upon completion of the program, apprentices will be hired at the BBC.

Depending on the scheme, salaries range from GBP21,840 to GBP32,500 (plus an additional allowance for apprentices based in London or the Channel Islands).

The deadline is Nov. 28.
