Journalists and freelancers from Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda can compete for awards.
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is accepting entries for the IGAD Media Awards. The awards seek to recognize and reward excellence in reporting on matters related to the IGAD region.
Applicants must submit works that explore this year's theme: “Narratives of Hope: Inspiring Peaceful, Secure, and Inclusive Futures.”
Works published or broadcast between Jan. 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024 must be submitted in the following categories: print, radio, photography, influencer, national language, television, and lifetime achievement.
Winners will receive prizes and be invited to attend a one-day training session covering IGAD’s mandate, programs, challenges and accomplishments. .
The deadline is June 30.
