Journalists and freelancers from Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda can compete for awards.
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is accepting entries for the IGAD Media Awards. The awards seek to recognize and reward excellence in reporting on matters related to the IGAD region.
Applicants must submit works that explore this year's theme: “Storytelling for Climate Action: For a Secure, Resilient and Stable Region.”
Works published or broadcast between April 1, 2024 and July 30, 2025 must be submitted in the following categories: print, radio, photography, influencer, national language, television, and lifetime achievement.
Winners will receive prizes, a two-day masterclass on climate journalism, and access to IGAD experts and partner networks for future collaboration.
The deadline is July 31.
