Webb on the Web: Translate Your Tweets

If you're trying to reach a broader audience with your tweets, or with your digital content in general, there are a few new web tools available that should be able to help.

Twanslate
will instantly translate tweets into Spanish, French, German, Japanese and a handful of other languages. Here's how it works: Step 1, Follow @twanslate on Twitter. Step 2, send direct msg like "d twanslate fr Where's the bathroom?" That's it!

ConveyThis
is a website translation button that will allow your visitors to instantly translate your content into a language they can understand. It supports 50 languages and character sets.

CoverItLive
is a liveblogging and live chat tool that lets you instantly interact with a large virtual community. One feature that often gets overlooked is the translate option. As live chats are taking place, you can click a button to translate the discussion into Spanish, French and a host of other languages.

To be fair, none of these translation tools work as well as an actual person who speaks both languages fluently. (And as a fluent speaker of a few different languages myself, I can attest to the fact that these websites and tools don't always work 100% well.) Still, if you're someone studying another language and actively using social media, sites like Twanslate and Mloovi can provide a great foundation for you.
