Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution fellowship Deadline May 1, 2015

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is accepting applications for its journalism fellowship program, designed to introduce science journalists to oceanography and ocean engineering through seminars, laboratory visits and brief field expeditions. GIJN Global Shining Line Award Deadline May 1, 2015

The Global Shining Light Award, sponsored by the Global Investigative Journalism Network, awards a journalist, journalism team or media outlet that worked under threat, duress or difficult conditions. The winner will be awarded a plaque, US$1,000 and a trip to the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Lillehammer, Norway. Click here for more information.

IWMF Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship Deadline May 1, 2015

The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) is accepting applications for the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship. The selected journalist will spend an academic year in a tailored program with access to MIT's Center for International Studies and media outlets like The Boston Globe and The New York Times. A stipend will be provided, and expenses, including airfare, housing and health insurance, will be covered. Reuters Institute seeks papers for journalism conference Deadline May 15, 2015

The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford is seeking abstracts of papers for presentation at its conference, "Negotiating Culture: integrating legacy and digital cultures in news media." The event will take place Oct. 28 to 30 in Oxford, England. The best papers will be considered for inclusion in a special issue of Digital Journalism. Click here for more information.

Thomson Reuters Foundation Kurt Schork Awards Deadline May 31, 2015

The Thomson Reuters Foundation hosts the Kurt Schork Awards in International Journalism, honoring the work of freelance journalists and local reporters in developing countries or nations in transition who often otherwise receive little recognition. The awards feature two categories: freelance journalists covering international news and local reporters covering events in their home country or region.
