Sustainable forestry seminar

Deadline: April 3, 2022

The Global Landscapes Forum, the Food and Agriculture Organization and the XV World Forestry Congress are organizing an online media seminar focused on sustainable forestry, and why forests play an essential role in keeping the planet livable. This program is free and will be available in English, French and Spanish.

Investigative reporting fellowship

Deadline: April 4, 2022

Journalists and students can apply for a fellowship to attend the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Conference. Fellows will receive a complimentary IRE membership/renewal and conference registration.

Trauma and resilience workshops

Deadline: April 4, 2022

Rory Peck Trust  and Meta are offering trauma and resilience workshops for freelance journalists. Participants will receive training so they can cover traumatic events ethically and safely, and be prepared for possible psychological impacts. 

GIJN associate editor job opening 

Deadline: April 14, 2022

Journalists interested in investigative and data journalism can apply to be the Global Investigative Journalism Network’s new associate editor. Applicants must have a strong background in writing and editing, with particular emphasis on copy-editing and proofing. 

Human rights fellowship

Deadline: April 15, 2022

The International Women’s Media Foundation is accepting applications for the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship. Fellows will receive a stipend and more. Women journalists who have a minimum of three years of experience in journalism are eligible to apply. 

AI Accountability Fellowships

Deadline: April 15, 2022

Staff and freelance journalists can participate in an AI Accountability Fellowship, created by the Pulitzer Center. This program provides up to US$20,000 to staff and freelance journalists to pursue reporting projects related to artificial intelligence accountability. 

Disabilities film festival

Deadline: April 20, 2022

The Belgrade International Film Festival “BOSIFEST 2022” is accepting documentaries created by people with disabilities. The festival’s theme is the work and life of people with disabilities. Entries can be up to 100 minutes long.

Science journalism award

Deadline: April 30, 2022
Experienced science journalists can compete for the Sharon Begley Science Reporting Award, created by the Council for the Advancement of Science Reporting. Interested applicants must submit three to five published clips. Winners will receive grants.
