Photography and social justice fellowship

Deadline: December 1, 2020

Early-career photojournalists and documentarians can apply for a remote fellowship from the Magnum Foundation, in partnership with CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism, focused on photography and social justice. Fellows participate in a core seminar course, workshops and mentorship through a project. Learn more here.

Media innovation fellowship

Deadline: December 1, 2020

Journalists working in business, technology or leadership capacity can apply for a fellowship from the Nieman Foundation for Journalism and the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. Fellowship for midcareer professionals

Yale University’s Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program brings innovative midcareer journalists from around the world to spend four months at Yale to step back from the intensity of their work to reflect, learn and be challenged both academically and personally. To learn more, click here. 

Mobile photography contest

Photographers who use mobile phone camera can submit their work to the Mobile Photography Awards. Winners will receive cash prizes up to US$3,000. Learn more here

Global business journalism program

Deadline: December 15, 2020

English-speaking journalists worldwide can apply for a global journalism program in China. The School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University offers a master of arts degree in global business journalism. The two-year program, a partnership between Tsinghua, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and Bloomberg News, is fully taught in English. Click here to learn more.

The Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) fellowship program invites proposals from individuals and organizations who wish to work on innovative projects that strengthen journalism's future.
