True Story Award accepting entries in 10 languages [Worldwide]

Journalists anywhere can enter in this international contest.

The True Story Foundation, in partnership with Reportagen Festival Bern, organizes the True Story Award, which aims to provide recognition for exceptional written reports in all countries.

Works can be submitted in 10 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Persian, Portuguese, Chinese and Hindi. Works written in other languages must be translated into English and submitted in the categories "Europe" "World I" or "World II."

Texts of 3,000 to 17,000 words published in print or online between Sept. 1, 2020 and Aug. 31, 2022 are eligible.

The total prize pool is CHF86,000 (US$85,883), with 36 nominees each receiving CFH1,000 (US$998) and attending the award ceremony in summer 2023 in Bern. The three overall best texts will be awarded CHF25,000 (US$24,966), CHF15,000 (US$14,979) and CHF10,000 (US$9,986) respectively.

The deadline to apply is Oct. 23.
