Journalists, scholars, filmmakers and public policy analysts can apply for this fellowship.
The New America National Fellows Program seeks ideas that have an impact and spark new conversations about today's most pressing issues.
Fellows are expected to advance ideas through research, reporting, analysis and storytelling. Projects must be original, ambitious and viable. Some ideas may include writing a book, developing a series of articles or producing a documentary.
The fellowship runs from Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2020. Fellows typically remain in their job and city, but attend three gatherings, each lasting about three days and held in Washington or New York.
Stipends range from US$15,000 to US$30,000.
The deadline is Feb. 1, 2019.
