Fellowship on covering infrastructure and the environment [Mekong region]

Posted on Jan 12, 2024 in Environmental Reporting

Journalists from and based in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand or Vietnam can apply for this hybrid fellowship.

Internews' Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is hosting a new journalist fellowship for journalists in Lower Mekong and offering training and story grants for reporting on infrastructural development and its impacts on the environment and human rights.

Fifteen journalists from Lower Mekong countries will be selected to participate in a series of online training sessions (8-10 hours over five days) and a two-day in-person workshop in March. EJN will cover the travel, accommodation and meals of selected participants.

Participants who successfully complete the training will subsequently be eligible to apply to receive story grants (with an average budget of US$2,000 each) and be closely mentored by experts as they research and investigate their stories.

Women and mid-career professionals are particularly encouraged to apply.

Apply by Jan. 31.
