Beginning to midcareer journalists interested in environmental reporting can apply for a two-week program in Lima, Peru.
The International Center for Journalists will offer fellowships for two journalists from Latin America to improve their digital skills in environmental issues and their effects on society.
The 2019 Douglas Tweedale Memorial Fellowship will take place Oct. 7 to 19. Fellows will meet with area investigative journalists, environmental experts, and participate in short embeds with media outlets specializing in environmental coverage.
The selected journalists will conduct reporting based on a specific project or objective that they have proposed in their application
Applicants must be fluent in Spanish and proficient in English and work at a news organization or as a freelance journalist based in the region.
The deadline is Aug. 28.
