Journalists who cover human rights and citizenship issues can apply for the 2023 Vladimir Herzog Journalism Prize for Amnesty and Human Rights.
The award honors the memory of Vladimir Herzog, a Brazilian journalist who was tortured and killed in October 1975, during the military regime in Brazil.
The prize, awarded by a committee of institutions, is open to professional journalists.
The categories are arts (illustrations, editorial cartoons, caricatures and comic strips), photography, video, text, audio, multimedia and non-fiction book. Winners will receive a trophy.
Entries must have been published or broadcast between July 1, 2022 and July 30, 2023, except for the non-fiction book category, where works submitted must have been published between Jan. 1, 2022 and Dec. 31, 2022.
The deadline to apply is July 31.
