Journalists interested in the intersection of computation and journalism can participate in this event.

Northeastern University's Computation+Journalism Symposium (C+J) will be held online on Feb. 19, in partnership with the Brown Institute for Media Innovation.

Participants are invited to submit either a single paper proposal or suggest an entire session. This year's theme is "Data journalism in an expanded field."

Possible topics include new methods to source, produce and distribute journalism, where researchers in the computational and social sciences learn about important open questions that news organizations are struggling with, business models to database technologies, new frameworks for data visualization and more.

The deadline to submit a proposal is Jan. 19.

Conference registration is free and ongoing.
