Training focuses on immunization, vaccines reporting [Eastern Europe, Caucasus]

Journalists from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan with at least two years of experience and a good level of English or Russian can apply for this program.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Sabin Vaccine Institute are organizing the training program "Reporting on Immunization and Vaccination". The course will be available in English from Nov. 30 to Dec. 9 and in Russian from Dec. 7 to 16.   

The program will cover a wide scope of immunization-related topics: the role of vaccines in public health, new and emerging issues particularly around COVID-19 vaccines, and the responsibility of media in educating the public about misinformation on vaccines and immunization.

Trainers will include former senior journalists from international media outlets such as Reuters and BBC, with guest speakers from the science and health professions.

Selected participants will receive GBP250 (US$322) story grants and ongoing mentoring for eight weeks.
