Deadline extended: IWMF offers reporting fellowships to El Salvador [Worldwide]

Women-identifying and non-binary journalists with at least three years of experience can apply for a reporting fellowship.

The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) is organizing Adelante (Moving Forward), a five-year reporting initiative that aims to amplify the voices of women journalists in Latin America and strengthen their professional development, impact and safety.

A group of six fellows will travel March 2 to 17, 2020 to El Salvador. Fellows will begin their trip in Mexico City, where they will complete a Hostile Environment and First Aid Training (HEFAT) course. They will then depart for nine days of reporting in San Salvador and the surrounding area.

The IWMF pays for fellowship-related expenses including travel, lodging, meals and fixers/interpreters unless a selected journalist’s news organization wishes to assume these costs.

Journalists must apply for this reporting fellowship in pairs.

The deadline has been extended to Nov. 19.
