Communications Fellowship
Deadline: April 5, 2024
The Club of Rome is offering its 2024 Communications Fellowship, which is aimed at increasing the diversity of voices covering sustainability issues, and supporting early-career communications professionals from underrepresented communities and regions. Fellows will receive a stipend and work-related travel costs will be covered.
Young journalism contest
Deadline: April 7, 2024
Journalists ages 18 to 35 can be nominated for One Young World’s Journalist of the Year Award. Candidates must have substantial evidence of the impact of their journalism, be passionate about the right to freedom of thought, and more. The winner will receive a fully-funded trip to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal.

Biodiversity media grants
Deadline April 9, 2024
The Earth Journalism Network and Arcadia are offering the Biodiversity Media Grant to increase the capacity of media to cover critical issues on conservation and biodiversity. Journalists, media organizations and journalism schools can apply for funding for training and capacity building.
Health equity fellowship
Deadline: April 11, 2024
Early to mid-career journalists and other professionals are eligible to apply for The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity’s 2025 fellowship. Fellows will participate in in-person and online sessions, and receive coaching, peer mentoring and team-based learning. Educational experiences and travel expenses will be covered.
Storytelling grants
Deadline: April 11, 2024
National Geographic is accepting proposals for its Level I and II grants. Project leaders in the areas of conservation, education, research, storytelling and technology can apply for funding. Possible works may include photography, filmmaking, cartography, journalism or digital media.
Human rights fellowship
Deadline: April 21, 2024
The International Women’s Media Foundation is seeking print, broadcast and online women journalists who focus on human rights and social justice for its Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of journalism experience and excellent written and verbal English skills. A stipend will be provided.
Documentary film festival
Deadline: April 30, 2024
Filmmakers can submit their work now for the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from October 25 to November 3 in the Czech Republic. Films not in English, Czech or Slovak must include English subtitles. The submission fee is EUR25.
International collaboration grants
Deadline: April 30, 2024
The British Council is accepting applications for the International Collaboration grants, which support U.K. and international organizations to work together on digital, face-to-face and/or hybrid artistic projects. Organizations with a focus on film, literature or visual arts are eligible to apply.
Science journalism contest
Deadline: April 30, 2024
Experienced science journalists can compete for the Council for Advancement of Science Reporting’s Sharon Begley Science Reporting Award. Interested applicants must submit three to five published clips or work samples that illustrate their best work in science journalism. US$20,000 will be awarded.
