The New York Times organizes Student Journalism Institute [US]

Student members of the the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Asian American Journalists Association or the Native American Journalists Association or at a historically black college are eligible. 

The New York Times Student Journalism Institute offers opportunities for students in reporting, copy editing, still photography, video journalism and newspaper page design. The program will be held online May 22 to June 6, 2021.

Aspiring journalists will learn to produce material that meets the standards of The New York Times under the guidance of its staff.

There is no cost to attend the Institute. One student will also be awarded an Armando Montaño Scholarship to help with his or her educational or professional ambitions. 

The deadline is Dec. 7.
