Citizen Lab Fellowship open [Americas, Africa]

Posted on Jul 7, 2020 发表在 Diversity and Inclusion

Individuals of African heritage from the Caribbean, North America and Latin America can apply for this remote program.

The Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy has launched a fellowship program on issues related to surveillance, digital security and race.

The fellowship can last three or six months, resulting in research reports, software, data visualizations or another project.

Candidates must submit a project covering technical, legal and/or policy investigations of surveillance technologies in communities of color and/or deployed during protests; or developing privacy enhancing technologies and tactics (e.g., encryption and anonymity tools, contextualizing these tools for racialized communities).

Fellows will receive CAD12,000 (US$8,862) or CAD24,000 (US$17,724), depending on the duration of the project.

The deadline is July 27.
