Fact-checking course open [Brazil]

Students and journalists interested in fact-checking public discourse can register for this course in Fortaleza.

The University of Fortaleza (Unifor) will host a fact-checking course Aug. 28 to 30.  

The course will address the main techniques and tools used in checking public discourse and prepare journalists to work on elections and politics reporting as well as daily journalism.

The course instructor and co-organizer is Thays Lavor, who was responsible for the regional coordination of Truco, the fact-checking project of Agência Pública.

Lavor will also participate in the National Congress of Journalists, organized by Brazil's National Federation of Journalists (Fenaj), Aug. 22 to 24 in Fortaleza.

Registration is open, but spots are limited. The cost is BRL270, with discounts available for students, Escola de Dados members and groups.
