Political journalism course, competition open [Brazil]

Journalism students and journalists who graduated after 2015 can participate in this program.

The Itapevi City Council has launched the Ricardo Boechat Course and Award for Political Journalism, which will focus on the theme “The role of legislative power in building citizenship in Brazil.”

The course will be divided into two phases: the first will take place Sept. 14 to Dec. 14 and the second, January to April 2020.

Participants will take online and on-site classes taught by communication professionals who will help them produce their entry for the journalism contest by April 25.

Works will be awarded in the following categories: feature, politics article, essay, editorial, reportage, news, photojournalism and editing.

Finalists will receive a trophy and certificate of participation.

The deadline is Aug. 30.
