Posted on Oct 10, 2024 发表在 Environmental Reporting

Journalists across Latin America can apply for these reporting grants.

The Serrapilheira Institute and the Investigative Journalism Latin-American Center (El Clip) are offering reporting grants for investigative stories supported by data on the Amazon biodiversity.

Twelve journalists will be selected to receive a US$600 monthly stipend for the course of three months to produce their story.

Prior to working on the story, all selected journalists will attend an in-person workshop in Rio de Janeiro with sessions discussing collaborative journalism, datasets for investigative stories, Amazon biodiversity and innovative news storytelling. The Serrapilheira Institute will cover the travel and accommodation costs for all participants.

Journalists from any of the Amazon countries in Latin America (Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guiana, French Guiana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela) will be given preference.

Applications will open on Oct. 15. Deadline to apply is Nov. 5.
