ForoCAP opens workshop registration [Guatemala]

Journalists, editors and others may apply for this training program in Spanish.

The new edition of the Central American Journalism Forum, ForoCAP, organized by El Faro, will take place in Nov. 7-9 in Antigua, Guatemala, and offers seven workshops.

Emilia Díaz-Struck, executive director of the Global Investigative Journalism Network, will offer the workshop "Putting AI at the service of journalism". Salvadoran historian Héctor Lindo will present "History of authoritarianisms". Venezuelan journalist and author Boris Muñoz will lead "Editing others' opinions: A workshop on editing columns and essays." Colombian journalist María Teresa Ronderos, director of El Clip, will offer a workshop on investigative journalism. Edwin Segura will present a workshop on journalism for non-journalists. There will also be a curation of photographic projects by photojournalist Michael Kamber, and the El Faro staff will conduct a four-day workshop aimed at young journalists.

The cost of all the training courses is US$175, except for the one given by El Faro, which costs US$225.

The deadline is Sept. 25.
