If you’re one our Farsi-speaking IJNet readers, you may have noticed our site became a little dusty.

We’re happy to announce a relaunch of the site, with fresh content and upcoming deadlines for journalism opportunities that could advance your career.

As we revive IJNet Persian for readers in Iran and Afghanistan, we’ll continue to deliver the latest on global media innovation, profile the most useful journalism tools and curate training, grant, job and fellowship opportunities. We’ll also focus heavily on digital journalism, which has evolved greatly since IJNet Persian began back in 2007.

At the time, Twitter was barely a year old. Facebook had just become open to everyone — not just college students — and data journalism hadn’t hit its stride as an industry trend. Today, journalists are talking about wearables and the possibility of virtual newsrooms. The news industry is discovering new ways to incorporate data into reporting. Podcasts finally took off and are now a popular and intimate way to tell stories.

As IJNet Persian grows again, you can stay in touch by 1) subscribing to our weekly bulletin and 2) connecting with us on Twitter and Facebook. If you have feedback or suggestions, don’t hesitate to email us at persianeditor [at] icfj [dot] org.
