Awards available for stories on economic inequality [US]

Journalists can submit stories and compete for cash prizes.

The National Press Foundation (NPF) is offering the Economic Justice Journalism Awards to honor excellence in reporting on economic inequality and its effects on families in the United States.

To qualify, journalists must have attended the Future of the American Child Reporting Fellowships.

Prizes will be given for work published, one within each of three categories: story published/aired by any news outlet; story published/aired by any news outlet with a newsroom of 150 or fewer journalists; story published/aired by any news outlet with a newsroom of 50 or fewer journalists, or by a freelancer, unemployed or furloughed journalist.

Three US$4,000 prizes will be awarded. 

The deadline is March 10.
