Freelance and staff journalists of any nationality covering tropical rainforest issues for local and regional outlets in the Congo Basin can apply for this grant.
The Congo Basin Rainforest Journalism Fund and the Pulitzer Center are accepting applications for the Congo Basin RJF Grant.
Proposals should relate to the following themes: links between tropical rainforests and climate change (and impacts on human livelihoods), deforestation drivers and solutions to halt deforestation.
Proposals are accepted in English and French, but reporting and publication may be done in any language.
Awards will typically range between US$2,500 and US$7,500.
There are also grants for journalists reporting for major American and European news outlets on tropical rainforests in any part of the world.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through 2023.
