openDemocracy seeks part-time correspondent [West Africa]

Journalists fluent in French and English with three years of experience can apply for this position.

openDemocracy is looking for a part-time Francophone West Africa correspondent to join its investigative project Tracking the Backlash, which seeks to expose and challenge threats to women’s and LGBTIQ rights.

Responsibilities include investigating anti-rights threats in Francophone West Africa, as well as contributing to the Documenting the Resistance series, which profiles feminist movements fighting back against threats to women’s and LGBTIQ rights.

Applicants must have a strong track record of reporting on the Francophone West Africa sub-region, expert knowledge of news media trends in the region and excellent journalism contacts.

The deadline has been extended to Feb. 28.
